Crispas Owiny Alekamoi

Crispas Owiny Alekamoi is a Ugandan filmmaker, screenwriter, creative director, cinematographer, and post-production editor, and the founder of A L E K A M O I Studios — a cinematic production house founded on intentional artistry, refined visual storytelling, and creative precision.

His filmmaking practice extends across narrative film, documentary, commercial storytelling, cinematography, screenwriting, and post-production. He is particularly interested in the relationship between image, sound, performance, atmosphere, and story — using each element with purpose to create work that is emotionally resonant, visually considered, and enduring.

Beyond his work as a filmmaker, Crispas is the Founder of the Uganda National Film Students' Guild (UNFSG), an initiative established to connect, develop, and empower Uganda's emerging generation of filmmakers and creative-media practitioners. Through the Guild, he advocates for greater collaboration, practical opportunities, mentorship, and a stronger creative ecosystem for the country's next generation of storytellers.

At A L E K A M O I Studios, his vision extends beyond contemporary commercial and event filmmaking. The studio is being built as the foundation for a future full narrative film production house — developing original stories and producing films that can represent African experiences with artistic ambition, cinematic discipline, and international relevance.

His long-term creative and academic journey is directed toward further study in Image Arts at Toronto Metropolitan University, with the broader ambition of deepening his practice in filmmaking while developing A L E K A M O I Studios into a distinctive African production company working across narrative cinema, documentary, and premium visual storytelling.

For Crispas, filmmaking is more than the act of capturing an image. It is the discipline of giving stories a visual language — transforming ideas, experiences, and moments into work that can be felt, remembered, and carried forward.
